A new mall, Pittsburgh Mills, has opened on Rte 28 north of Pittsburgh. It is advertised as the biggest mall in the world. My friends and I had to check it out.
It is HUGE, but "biggest in the world"? Hmph. Doesn't have an amusement park in the center.

It is anchored by a beautiful new Kaufmann's. But I read the papers, I know that Kaufmann's has been sold, and it's stores are being closed (South Hills Village) or moved (downtown). We Pittsburghers are a loyal bunch, loyal to our local landmarks, and consider Kaufmann's a Pittsburgh Treasure. Obviously the Macy executives do not.

Nor have we forgotten Horne's, or Isaly's.
