Death Angel

Larry's experience was quite different than Tippi's. He signed up for the nature and photography courses and learned about southern fauna and appalachean topography. This poisonous mushroom was one of many seen and photographed on the "Fungi and Mosses" hike one morning. He also photographed the historic district of Blacksburg and a view of the misty mountains from a far overlook.
Below is a picture of the smallest fungus found, it is about 3/8" wide and was found on a rotting log. We photographed it next to a quarter, for scale. It is called, obviously, a "little bird's nest fungus".
